SynGas is a plug-and-play OBD2 device made for standard gas and diesel engines built after 1996. Just to clarify for factual accuracy, it is absolutely not compatible with hybrid or electric vehicles.

It works by mapping your driving habits over a calibration period of about 150 miles (which usually takes a week or two of normal commuting). After gathering that data, it temporarily adjusts the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to optimize fuel delivery, helping the engine run a bit leaner when you're just cruising. The installation doesn't require a mechanic or any tools. It is also completely reversible—unplugging the device simply returns the ECU right back to its factory settings without voiding the warranty or draining the battery.

Es funktioniert, indem es Ihre Fahrgewohnheiten über eine Distanz von etwa 240 Kilometern (was meistens ein oder zwei Wochen normalen Pendelns entspricht) aufzeichnet. Danach passt es das Motorsteuergerät (ECU) vorübergehend an, um die Kraftstoffzufuhr zu optimieren, damit der Motor beim normalen Fahren etwas sparsamer läuft. Für die Installation braucht man keinen Mechaniker und auch kein Werkzeug. Das Ganze lässt sich auch komplett rückgängig machen – wenn man das Gerät abzieht, wird die ECU einfach wieder auf die Werkseinstellungen zurückgesetzt, ohne dass die Garantie erlischt oder die Batterie entladen wird.

Une fois ces données recueillies, il ajuste temporairement l'unité de contrôle du moteur (ECU) pour optimiser l'injection de carburant, ce qui permet au moteur de consommer un peu moins quand vous roulez tranquillement. L'installation ne nécessite aucun mécanicien ni outil. C'est également totalement réversible : le simple fait de débrancher l'appareil ramène l'ECU à ses paramètres d'usine, sans annuler la garantie ni vider la batterie.
